I didn’t mind the Alicia Keys/Jack White combo on the QoS intro, but I’ve always wanted to use a Reverend song for a Bond intro and I think I finally found my opportunity. And by “don’t mind” I mean that I’m not compelled to riot and overturn cars every time I hear Alicia Keys croon “shoot ’em up bang bang.” Minor, manageable rage only. Instead of that nonsense, let’s get our Rockabilly on.

Let’s just go ahead and pretend that Madonna never turned the title credits for Die Another Day into a dancehall and admit that this song is much preferable and a better fit. Mitch Miller would have been a better fit than half-assed Madonna house music. But this… this is my George Lucas Director’s Edit had I been the director of Die Another Day instead of Lee Tamahori, except awesome.

The grueling 23-Bond tournament that began more than a year ago. Today a champion has been crowned. Votes have been tallied, facts have been checked, Price Waterhouse Cooper has been carrying around a shackled briefcase for a week. I’ve had a great time running this tournament and discussing all the matchups in great detail. The final matchup between #FRWL and #OHMSS even pitted my two favorite Bonds against each other. Along the way there were some upsets (#LTK over #Goldfinger), some near misses (#Moonraker almost overtaking #GoldenEye) and a few massive smackdowns (#OHMSS over #DAD, #FRWL over #LaLD) that made it all nail-biting drama.
Will it be the upstart #10-seed ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE? Or will it the #4-seed FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE?

Skyfall #Bond_age_ Collection DVD Cover
For the Skyfall #Bond_age_ Collection DVD Cover, something about that movie screamed Saul Bass to me. So I nabbed the Anatomy of a Murder body, misplaced some limbs and added some “keeping the English end up” (or rather down) touches. I chose a more classic Bond bowtie rather than Craigers’ Tom Ford suit and tie combo. But I may revise that. I also took liberties with the plaque on the estate marker. I preferred the Latin Bond family motto rather than repeating the name “Skyfall” elsewhere.

Live and Let Die #Bond_age_ Collection DVD Cover
I borrowed the skull image from the Baron Samedi Swatch. See the full item here at www.007collector.com. With a little bit of tweaking, it became the perfect centerpiece for the Live and Let Die #Bond_age_ Collection DVD Cover. The tarot card on the back, of course, is the card used by Bond to fool Solitaire into breaking her indentured servitude (good psychic-in-residence gigs are hard to come by) to Kananga/Mr. Big.
