Tournament of #Bond_age_ Tweets: #LALD

You know what they say…. behind every great bracket is a great lesser bracket. The NCAA’s have the NIT. The Winners have the Losers bracket. And the Tournament of Bonds has the Tournament of #Bond_age_ Tweets.

TournamentOfBondageTweets

After each live tweet a secret panel of “experts” selects their favorite tweets from the past week. I will then decide on the Top 5(ish) and submit those tweets to a vote. As we roll along through the live tweets, our second bracket will be populated and then the tweets will duel for their own fame and glory. The author of the winning tweet will be crowned Man or Woman with the Golden Tweet and be required to add a third nipple… and be showered with fame and glory and uncertain Interweb riches.

Here are the contenders for Golden Tweet of the Live and Let Die Live Tweet.

Live and Let Die Opening Remixed with Jimi Hendrix

Have you ever thought that Paul McCartney needed more guitar in his title track for Live and Let Die? Did you think that maybe the Guns ‘n f’n Roses’ version of “Live and Let Die” might have been superfluous? (No? Me either.) If you’re generally discontented, how about sampling this title track switcheroo courtesy of Keith Bodayla (@theactualkeith) featuring the one and only Jimi Hendrix.

Live and Let Die Opening Remixed with The Cult

Replace Sir Paul? Why not? Sometimes even the classics need a day off. I knew immediately which song I wanted to use… thematics and all that fire jazz led me to The Cult’s “Fire Woman” immediately. I really wanted to use a remix I had on vinyl called the “L.A. Remix,” but that version failed to hit the cues without significant editing. I returned to the album cut. With minimal tinkering with the start and a fade out at the end, this one fell into place naturally.

Tomorrow Never Dies Opening Credits Remixed with the Rolling Stones

The original title track for TOMORROW NEVER DIES shall go unmentioned. It’s just safer that way. You never know when you’ll be in mixed company getting all worked up about Sheryl Crow’s abomination of a Bond track and someone pipes up and says they didn’t think it was that bad. Well it is! It is the bad! @theactualkeith ousted that drudgery with not just one, but two new remixes… here’s the second of those two. Good riddance.

Tomorrow Never Dies Opening Credits Remixed with The Beatles

I didn’t think this song would be a good fit, but it is. Upon further consideration any mid-tempo song from the Beatles probably fits any given Bond title credits sequence like a glove. And since all we need to do here is improve upon Sheryl Crow’s “Tomorrow Never Dies,” I think it’s a pretty safe bet that we’re all winners, no matter what. This one comes courtesy of @theactualkeith.
